19 Weeks

Here I am at 19 weeks. For a change of scenery, I'm in my office at Nickelodeon. This week I measure at 39 inches, so I seem to be averaging 1/2 inch per week - Yikes!

Shawn's 31st and...IT'S GIRLS!

Shawn's 31st b-day was on July 15th. We celebrated with dinner with some friends, Shawn's favorite all organic carrot cake, and opening night at the new Harry Potter movie! It was a fun night!

The day before his birthday, we had our big ultrasound to find out the gender of the twins. And just as I had suspected all along, we are having 2 GIRLS! The twins are fraternal, so there was a chance they could be a boy and a girl, which was Shawn's guess - I think he looked pretty shocked and overwhelmed when the doctor said the official news.
Even though we were both excited with the news, Shawn didn't have too much to say about it at first. When I finally probed him for more he said "I'm just thinking of all the boys coming to our house and all the stress of them dating!

It's so cute how he got so far ahead - he is already a very protective daddy. I'm sure he is a little worried about there being 3 girls in the house who need a lot of attention from him. But I think he is pretty lucky that he will also get 2 more girls in the house who love and adore him as much as I do! Anyone who knows Shawn knows how amazing he is, and us 3 girls are SO lucky to have him as a husband and a daddy - We love you Shawn!

18 Weeks

I'm a week behind on posting, but we took this picture last week at 18 weeks. I also measured at 38 1/2 inches, which is 1/2 inch bigger than the week before. I'm still feeling pretty good most of the time now that most of the sickness is gone. We will take a 19 week picture today and try to get caught up :)

Family in Town

Shawn's brother John and his wife Katy drove in from Arizona to visit us for the weekend. We had lots of events planned including the circus, the family party at my work, and a visit to the beach. I was bad about taking pictures, but here are a few from the Nickelodeon party.

One of the games at the party was this giant tree climb. I think it was for the kids, but of course Shawn gave it a try.

All of us at the party.

17 Weeks

Here is the latest belly photo at 17 weeks. We have decided to start measuring every week to get a more accurate assessment of how fast I am growing. This week I am 38 inches around the belly. We are also suppose to find out the genders this Tuesday - so we can't wait!

4th of July in Santa Barbara

Right now, everything for us is the "last hoorah" before babies. So for our last 4th of July as just the 2 of us we went for the weekend to Santa Barbara. It's a great place to go for the holiday because they do a cute parade downtown and amazing fireworks on the beach. As you will see from the pictures, the main goal of this trip was to keep me out of the sun. Since being pregnant, I instantly get sick with any amount of time in the sun. So this lead us to a giant sun hat, umbrellas and long sleeve jackets. But I felt great the whole time and we had a wonderful weekend!

Our first stop was the Zoo where Shawn asked just about every mom we saw with a stroller what they did and didn't like about the particular stroller they had. He has been on a mission lately to figure out the best one for us.

Next we went to the beach where Shawn set up a giant umbrella for me to sit under.

Later that night we had a great clam chowder dinner in the marina.

The next day we went to the big parade and afterwards some of the parade participants let us take photos.

Towards the end of the day we rented this "bike". It worked out perfect since Shawn could do most of the peddling and I was still in the shade.

Hillary's Bridal Shower

Scott's beautiful bride-to-be and my sister-in-law to be, Hillary, had her bridal shower this past weekend in San Clemente. Shawn and I drove down for the day and Shawn hung out with Scott at the beach while I enjoyed the celebration. The location of the shower was amazing - right off the beach at a wonderful park. Everything was so cute in pink and green!

Almost 16 weeks!

By request, here are some pictures of my growing belly which seems to double in size everyday! The doctor promises me that I am a normal size for twins but I just can't believe how quickly it's all happening. People often ask if I'm 6 months along! I can only guess what I will look like at 6 months!

For Our Moms

Since both of our mothers live in Colorado, and are both dying for more details on how the pregnancy is coming along - we have decided to start a blog so we can post pictures along the way and keep everyone in the loop on how the Babies St. Sauveur are doing!
