Some Random Pictures

It has been subtly brought to my attention that I have not posted anything on the blog lately. But between moving to a new house, trying to get settled and the girls taking turns getting new teeth - the blog has been on hold. But here are a few pics I took in the last month. The girls love their new bigger house and are crawling like maniacs, which means I am chasing them in opposite directions like a maniac!

I took this one today. The girls just got highchairs. We have been feeding them in bumbos with trays. But they love their new big girl chairs. I always just strip them down to eat - easier than constantly changing their messy clothes! They are eating purple potatoes. Their favs right now are potatoes, tofu, bananas, green beans and cheese.

These ones are a few weeks ago with them in the clothes that Aunt Judy made. They are SO SO cute. I could not stop laughing when I put them on the girls because they looked so adorable. Can you believe she made them! She is so talented. Thanks Aunt Judy!

I'm in love with these pictures!!

OK, to be fair - I am in love with the girls in the pictures, so I am a tiny bit biased. But I think we can all admit that these photos are beautiful! :)
They were done by Monica Martin (for all my SO CAL friends, check out her site monicamartinphotography.com and use her!)
I looked long and hard for a great photographer and was so happy to find Monica through a mutual friend.
The girls are 7 months in these, so they are even bigger now! Sorry to post so many, but it was too hard to choose.

Olive's New Crib

We finally got Olive a big crib! By way of explanation - we only have 2 bedrooms in our house, and the girls can't sleep in the same room because they wake each other up. So Olive has been sleeping in our room in a co-sleeper crib (a smaller crib that attaches to our bed) and Parker sleeps in a big crib in their room. But now Olive is too big for the co-sleeper and we got her the same crib that Parker has. Here are some pictures. She loves it!

She looks so grownup and proud of her new crib!

First Father's Day!

Today is Shawn's very first Father's Day, and I want to take the opportunity to say what an AMAZING Father he is.

I think it takes a very special guy to be a Dad of twins...when there are 2, there are literally no breaks. There is always a baby that needs to be changed, played with, calmed down, fed, burped and such. So you have to have a Dad that is ready, willing and able 24 hours a day. And in our home, we are lucky enough to have such a Dad...

Shawn has enough energy for both us! He gets up in the middle of the night with Parker (she likes to have a playtime party around 2am every night), he gets up and helps me every morning at 5am. He literally runs home everyday at his lunch break to help me and the girls for an hour before heading back to work. He takes the girls for walks every afternoon, and he loves to give them their baths even though they always splash all over him.

He is so attentive, concerned, loving, sweet and protective of them. I honestly could not even imagine how he could be any better at this Dad job! Our girls light up every time he walks in the door, and he happens to do the same when he sees them. All 3 of us girls as SO SO lucky to have him.

We love you Shawn. And thanks for being the very best Daddy in the whole world!

I made the slide show on the right to give you a small glimpse into why Shawn is such a wonderful Dad.

6 Months!

The girls turned 6 months this past Sunday if you can believe it!! It's all going by so fast and they are SO big! We had a lot of "firsts" in the last week, and here are some pictures.

Our first visit from Uncle John & Aunt Katy

Our first try at real food - We gave them carrots and as you can see, not much made it into Olive's mouth, but plenty on her bib.

Parker on the other hand couldn't get enough! She loved ever bite and even sucked it off the tray. Just like her Daddy the way she loves her veggies!

We also put the girls in the pool for the first time, and they loved it! They were too cute in their swimsuits. I am looking forward to lots more swimming this summer. In the pictures I'm with Parker and Shawn is with Olive.

New Videos!

I have been trying to take new videos of the girls, but they always freeze up when they see I am holding the camera!
But I managed to get a little bit of Olive blowing spit bubbles - it's her favorite thing to do right now. And an example of how loud Parker is first thing in the morning. She likes to scream with delight as soon as she wakes up. So here is what we hear at 6 am every morning.
The video is dark, but you can get the idea from the sound and can see her little legs kicking away.

A Career Change

Last week I went in to work to give my resignation, yesterday I cleaned out my office and said my goodbyes, and today is my official last day with the company...

I'm so excited and lucky to be staying home with my beautiful girls everyday. I don't want to miss a moment. But after 6 years at Nick - to the day oddly enough - I am feeling very emotional about leaving. It's been such an amazing journey with that job. I got to do and see awesome things. I lived my dream while I was there and made some life long friendships. I feel so conflicted to be feeling both sad about closing the Nickelodeon chapter on my life and thrilled to be a new stay at home mom.

I like something my mom said to me about it - "I do not cry because it's over, I smile because it happened." And that's so true. I will always look back with fond memories and someday I can tell my girls all about it...

Here is a picture of my badge. They took this photo on my very first day! I was SO nervous!
